Hello and welcome to Hailsham Freegle!

Give and get stuff for free from your neighbours in and around Hailsham!

Offer things you don't need, and ask for things you'd like. Don't just recycle - reuse with Freegle! Our aim is to find things a new home rather than send it to landfill!

We have some basic rules which we ask you follow:

1. Everything you give must be free and legal - items cannot be sold, swapped, or given in exchange for a donation or service

2. No swapping or borrowing

3. No requests for pets or other live animals (or humans!)

4. Please don't ask for information, or non tangible items e.g. recommendations, vouchers, or services

How Does It Work?

It's simple!

Make a post offering an item. Other people see it and reply to you. You choose who to give it to, and arrange a date and time for collection.

Alternatively - make a post asking for an item. Other people see it and reply to you. Hopefully someone will be able to help - so you can arrange a date and time to collect from them.

If you see something you'd like, reply to the offer and see if you're chosen to receive it; and if you see something you can provide, reply to the request and let them know.

You'll have decluttered, made someone's day, and saved an item from landfill.

In addition, a couple of guidelines for safe and happy Freegling:

Please remember to be nice to other members
Please keep personal details out of your posts (for your own security and privacy)
You don't have to give items to the first person to reply; you might get another reply later that you prefer.
Selling items on is allowed, but please make this clear in messages to other members so they can decide for themselves.
